At long last, I’ve finally made a longplay of the Xbox 360 version of Sonic Unleashed. It was fun to experience the technically superior version of this game. There are flaws in this version. Such as the sun and moon medal hunting to progress, the frame rate dropping like in Adabat, and the final boss being the worst in the series. Still, the positives outweigh the negatives in this case. The presentation is top notch, even by today’s standards. The voice acting and storytelling are both well done. The continuous boost is amazing and quite the ride to experience. The hubworlds are beautiful and fun to run around in. The werehog while not my favourite part of this game is better in this version since there’s combo finishers and tons of combs to pull off, where the Wii and ps2 versions had a very limited set of. The day and night stages of Mazuri and Empire city are also pretty fun. Then there’s the extra stages to play in this version. All in all, a good game and great version that basically brought people back to Sonic and felt like the next generation Sonic game that Sonic 06 should’ve been. IGN should definitely redo this and actually play the game entirely.
