Sons of the Forest is the second installment of the popular survival horror series launched in 2018. The production was developed by the authors of the original, i.e. Endnight Games studio. In Sons of the Forest, we play the role of a castaway whose journey aboard a helicopter ended in a disaster in the middle of an endless forest. Our task is to survive and solve the mystery of the island. However, it won't be easy, because the area is infested with mutated creatures and cannibals. Mechanics In Sons of the Forest we observe the action from the first person perspective (FPP). The production gives us an open world that we can freely explore. In addition to a dense forest, rivers with picturesque waterfalls or a vast beach, caves bathed in darkness await plunder by the brave. As staying here is not an idyll, survival aspects and an extensive crafting system play an important role here. In order to get food, we must first collect wood, from which we will then create a makeshift weapon. In addition, the raw material, which we have in abundance around, is used to build a real base (we are talking about a multi-story structure surrounded by a palisade; the tarpaulin stretched on sticks can only initially serve as a roof over our heads). As for weapons - a simple spear or even a knife is enough for us to kill non-aggressive animals (such as turtles), but to defend against mutants, not to mention going deep into their territories, we need murder tools of a much larger caliber. We are talking primarily about firearms, which over time fall into our hands. Even with a taser or a powerful gun, you should be careful, because mutants rarely attack alone. As if that wasn't enough, in addition to regular individuals, more and more twisted and more powerful creatures begin to appear on our way, whose defeat is a much greater challenge. Game Modes Sons of the Forest can be played solo or in co-op. Technical issues Sons of the Forest boasts high-quality graphics. One may especially like the richly detailed surroundings, densely covered with vegetation, as well as various, realistically animated opponents.
