The biggest issue is getting one. It sold out before launch and it seemed like it was because of demand but it actually looks like Sony only made like 15 of them

It doesn’t automatically change the resolution / framerate of your TV or game so if you leave a game like Horizon Forbidden West in 120hz / 40fps mode it’ll stream to the handheld at that framerate and it looks bad

In regular games it streams a full 4K 60 image to a 1080p handheld which causes jitter and blockiness

Sometimes it works amazing, sometimes it doesn’t. And you can’t really do much to fix it

IGN pointed out that if you take it to Starbucks or like McDonalds, you won’t be able to use it since public wifi usually makes you check a box to get online and this thing has no browser at all so you can’t do that.

The good news is, it doesn’t really matter because the Portal was made purely to increase PS5 engagement

The Senior VP of platform experience Hideaki Nishin said, "Rather than profitability, we want to increase the amount of time we can play with PS5. If you can play anywhere, I think some people will definitely spend more time playing games.”
