Sony Fails to Adopt Lesson Learned from Microsoft
Sony's revision of the PlayStation 3 deemed PS3 4000/PS3 Super Slim is less than a month away from its anticipated announcement during gamescom 2012. With the FCC clearly uncovering three new models with storage skus including 16GB, 250GB, and 500GB, I am disturbed by the fact Sony would even consider placing a console on retail shelves with less storage space than what was included with the launch units almost six years ago.
The fact that storage is constantly dropping in price by considerable margins month-to-month, effectively allows me to question Sony's decision as Microsoft has upset numerous developers over the storage capacity issue. In fact, Halo 4 is launching later this year and for those who purchased the 4GB Xbox 360, another purchased will be required as in order to play the full online experience, 8GBs of storage space will be required. Keep in mind, Halo 4 is not even a Blu-ray release as what's offered on the PS3 causing Sony's decision to attract more questioning.
Watch as I discuss my frustration with the 16GB PS3 model and why I feel this decision shows how Sony has failed to adopt a lesson learned from Microsoft. After watching, please let me know what you think in the comments section.
