Sony "only" unveils new PlayStation 5 logo at CES 2020 and clueless press loses their minds.

I am surprised that the press got this bizarre notion that Sony would unveil any news about the PlayStation 5 at the CES - a show traditionally to mainstream technologies. Of course, Sony will most likely save this for their in-house reveal sometime in February (if they follow suit from PlayStation 4), or during E3 2020 -- a place where gamers will stand, cheer, and collectively lose their minds. But the fact that ANYBODY thought Sony would show off hardware, console exclusives, or anything of substance at CES 2020 is goofy.

Sony did show off some numbers which indicate that their subscriber count for PlayStation Plus is significantly lower than total systems sold, something that I think they will need to address in the next generation. They did unveil the logo, a timeline of previous system upgrades, and general features of of the upcoming new console. Nothing too surprising there.
