Sony reportedly told analysts PS5 restock issues could continue into 2022
Sony has reportedly told analysts that PlayStation 5 restock issues could continue into 2022.
According to a Bloomberg report, Sony recently held a private analyst briefing in which they admitted that they are struggling to keep up with demand for the PS5 due to shortages in components needed in production of the console.
Hiroki Totoki, Chief Financial Officer of the Sony Group Corporation, reportedly told analysts – who asked not to be named as the briefing wasn’t public – that he doesn’t think demand is calming down this year and even if they secure a lot more devices and produce many more units of the PlayStation 5 next year, their supply wouldn’t be able to catch up with demand.
However, Totoki did admit that Sony needs to improve in production as soon as possible and make sure there are consoles available on store shelves worldwide.
