Soul of the Samurai / Ronin Blade Part 2 Lin playthrough [FINAL]
1After completing the first part of the story (Kotaro's – to be more specific), I discovered that you need to start a new game as Lin ON THE SAME EXACT SAVE and discover her contribution to the whole plot. You must fulfill this requirement to view the true ending to the game.
Either it was thanks to me getting used to the controls or to Lin's skills (or both), I found my second playthrough much easier and I reached the end in two hours.
I must say I was not fond of this game at the beginning but I quickly got used to its stiff gameplay and kind of liked it. I also like the music (although simple and looping over and over, driving you mad). There is one aspect of the game I did not like, however. The hidden locations are a pain, because I really struggled with finding the blacksmith's house. I thought it will be somehow indicated by visual means (open doors, usual sings of NPC's presence). Yet it appeared that you just have to try a generic door (the blacksmith's daughter tells you the location, but it's your only clue, while navigation in this game is very slow). The second aspect of this game that I find annoying is the limited number of healing items you can find. It adds to the challenge but it may also get you stuck at some point of the game, forcing you to repeat a section over and over until you master it and reach a safe spot. But those are just minor complaints. I was really surprised by my eagerness to complete this game. And I don't regret it at all!
