Soundblaster Live! vs. Yamaha OPL3 - Hi Octane - Amazon Delta Turnpike
Hello Friends, in the last video we've seen that the Live! can do OPL2 pretty well. But what about OPL3? Well... Listen and let me know your opinion in the comments.
The OPL3 record was with on a Packard Bell Sound 16A with an original Yamaha YMF262 OPL3 FM. It is a soundcard made by Aztech and branded as OEM for PB back in the mid 90s. These ISA cards are great for DOS but they are rare end expensive in comparison to a PCI card like the SB Live!. Also, most Pentium 3 / Athlon (and later) mainboards don't have ISA-slots anymore - a PCI card is a good and cheap alternative as long as it features drivers for DOS.
