Space Engineers 2024 Split Orbit For Vienna With Landing
So by a split orbit we mean: above for half, then below for half... Half of what? The imaginary line around 10,000 - 12,000 m where the atmosphere becomes exceedingly thin. This makes for less friction but also virtually no lift. You'll note that for around 1/3 of the trip we are going backwards (like the real orbiters do) and manage to utilize a mostly maneuvering thrust de-orbit before setting course back to Horseshoe Cove. Fun fact? The parachutes were not loaded, so we stopped by using spoilers and maneuvering thrust which is just dicey for stopping.
*I couldn't tow the big spider mech... it's just too heavy. lol
