After the rise of working from home with the pandemic, Spain is preparing to launch a digital nomad visa. It was stated that with the incentive package, people working from home can stay in villages and towns with a decreasing population for a maximum of 12 months, and the period may be extended.

With the spread of working from home with the pandemic virus pandemic, some of the companies in the world offer their employees the option to work from wherever they want.

In this context, Spain has announced its new incentive package, which it calls digital nomadism, for employees all over the world, provided that they live in villages where the population is decreasing day by day.

The so-called digital nomad visa, which allows remote workers to stay and work in Spain for a maximum of 12 months, has been proposed as part of what is called the 'Startup Law' in the country.

It was stated that the period can be extended twice after the digital nomads stay for 12 months, while new tax incentives can be given to encourage young entrepreneurs to move.

As the lack of job opportunities in rural Spain reduces the population of many small towns and villages, these destinations are ready to welcome remote workers.

While nearly 30 towns and villages across Spain have joined the Red Nacional de Pueblos Acogedores para el Teletrabajo (National Network of Welcome Villages for Remote Workers) to encourage digital nomads to visit, what these destinations have in common is that they have less than 5,000 residents and want to increase their populations. it was underlined.

In the program presented by the government, it was stated that it was aimed to increase the population and revitalize life in the villages by inviting remote workers to towns and villages.

Here are the places that are covered by the digital nomadism law in Spain and attract the most attention:

TEJEDA, GRAN CANARIA

Tejeda, the only option in the Canary Islands under the digital nomad law, with a population of approximately 2,000, stands out as the choice of those who want warmth all year round.

It is stated that the average annual temperature in the village is around 19 degrees Celsius, and the cost of living is around 240 euros per week.

SAN VICENTE DE LA SONSIERRA, LA RIOJA

With a population of just over a thousand, San Vicente de La Sonsierra is the choice of those looking for an inspiring environment and a quiet place.

It is stated that an average of one week's accommodation in the village is 205 euros per person, including food and accommodation costs.

RABANALES DE ALISTE, ZAMORA

Located close to the Portuguese border, the village has a population of less than 500. Local authorities, who are planning to continue living in the village by increasing their number due to its aging population, hope to attract attention from digital nomads due to its hiking trails and mountain bike routes.

It is stated that living in Rabanales de Aliste village is around 270 euros per week. nonstop news
