No one in the Mercs community has ever been able to explain how Special Bonuses work. Even the developers couldn't remember. But I've finally cracked the code!

The game awards the player a Special Bonus any time they complete a Faction Contract without:
1. Using a health pack
2. Dropping below 20HP (a.k.a. "Survival Mode")

Notes:
- Restarting a Contract resets the Special Bonus tracker
- Warping prevents Special Bonuses
- Payment screen skipping prevents Special Bonuses
- Vehicle Repair Drops do NOT prevent Special Bonuses
