Welcome to a new series of lousy gameplay videos. Where I try my luck at speedrunning, but in a casual non serious way. So, I am using GZDoom with mouselook because it's my preferred way to play and I try my best without any guarantee that any of these videos will be a successful speedrun (this one was however, so I tried twice to improve my score :). It's more like trying my luck in something that I am not good at, see myself failing and have a laugh about it.

For a first speed noobs attempt I was lucky. My first attempt was a bit cautious, not a typical speedrunning where you just go around monsters, but staying in some rooms to clean enemies fast. Because when ending the final E1M8 you don't get a final intermission screen, I calculated from the previous end of map + time in the video and it's almost 14 minutes I think. Then, because I was successful at first try, but didn't go the full speedrunner risky path, I tried another attempt where I would sometimes go through monsters even with the dangers they shoot me from behind. I have died twice, so I tried once more with the same approach and the total minutes must be a bit under 12 minutes this time. Now I am gonna look at zero master's record and see how far off I really am :)

This is gonna be a not serious attempt, at something I am not naturally into (I prefer finishing maps carefully and cleaning up all the enemies and finding all the secrets) more of a casual speed running attempt with it's failures. I might do ep2 and ep3 next. Ep4 will be a killer. But maybe at some of the episodes I'll try to do certain single maps. Or even single maps from other megawads.
