I'm weird. I will take my DS Lite, DS flashcart and GBA flashcart with me to work to give me something to do during lunch. I will also play it before I go to bed. I used to watch a bit of BattleBots when it was on Comedy Central and this game features several robots from those seasons so I got hooked on this game for a bit. If you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to run out of money and be forced to reset. This is not the easiest game to beat.

After struggling to beat the game once or twice, I got curious and looked at the only previous speedrun I had known about by Altec. It was then that I learned just how good hammers were as a weapon. I had found out how good hatchets were, but the hammers you have access to early are also really good. I timed a run at lunch earlier today with this new knowledge and finished in about 20 minutes. The previous record, to the best of my knowledge, was about 24 minutes. (It was actually a little over 20.) I knew then what I had to do.

I'm not entirely sure what I did differently to beat the previous time by almost 7 (actually 3) minutes. I'm still not entirely sure that alternating button presses for the weapons does damage the fastest, though I did see some good damage from a proper rhythm. It probably helped to lure the foes into a corner of the battlebox and pin them against the wall so I could keep hammering them. I also left the Arcade mode option on. I wonder if Simulation mode would really do anything different.

I really don't care to play this game anymore. The alternate mashing of the A and B buttons was a killer on my right hand. I would not mind not seeing this game ever again. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/cardsoftheheart
