Sit with Bob, our spiderplant and enjoy a classic radio mystery double feature! This week: INNER SANCTUM - "Terror By Night" and "The Slasher"

"Terror By Night"
Broadcast date: June 29, 1952
A mad killer is on the prowl, and there's a dead body in the trunk. This is a good shocker with surprise ending. The script was previously used on "Inner Sanctum" on September 18, 1945. Have you ever been alone with fear, alone in the night and frightened? Well listen to first lady of radio Agnes Moorehead alone in the role of redhead Linda Dixon who will tell us a tale of Terror by night. Linda Dixon is driving along late on a stormy night and having car trouble when she hears on the radio of an escaped dangerous prisoner, a dark haired man named John Hartley accompanied by his dangerous and clever red haired girlfriend Helen Hearne.

"Song Of The Slasher"
Broadcast date: April 24, 1945
A good story about a cop who discovers that he's living in the same building with a homicidal maniac. The script was subsequently used on "The Grip Of Terror" in 1977. A thick murky fog hangs like a damp day over the waterfront. Streets are deserted. The buildings loom like tombstones in a cemetery. No living soul can be seen because people with sense stay behind locked doors. The "Slasher" has murdered and mutilated his fifth victim in 8 days. In a drab lonely little room, a young woman suddenly looks up when she sees . . .
