A man kills a chemist for his formula for immortality, but it doesn't quite work out that way. The title above is as per the script, but the story title was changed to "Elixer Number Four" before the actual broadcast. This broadcast is not the same which has a similar plot. A young college student discovers that his professor has succeeded in making the Elixir of Life, but only enough for one person, the professor himself. Clearly this won't do. After all, who wouldn't want to live forever? The Man Who Couldn't Die is a story about a man who became master of a secret so fearful that it could never be revealed to any mortal living or dead. Here he will tell you the story himself of how he learned the most terrible secret in the entire universe and what he did with it.
