Spinning BLOOM technique - first attempt - WOW - acrylic fluid art
145Hey Everyone! Thank you for being here today. I’m so happy you are here with me today to see what I created.
Today’s piece is inspired by: a number of artists I’ve watched online to see if I can give the BLOOM technique a go. Big shout out to; @Sheleeart @WaterfallAcrylics @EricaHughesArt @GarrickBrownArtStudio - who’ve inspired me today.
Technique used: Bloom Technique - Spinning Bloom Technique - and today is my first attempt. Let me know how you think I get on.
What I learnt: you won’t grow as an artists unless you push yourself out of your comfort zone and give techniques a go that you haven’t tried yet.
Colour palette: all paints are Amsterdam (can’t remember exact tones as these paints I mixed up a while ago before I labelled everything): black, gold,red, orange, white. Cell activator is Australian Floetrol.
Time Stamps: If you want to go to a specific section of the video, here are the main segments:
00:20 - Layering the colours
01:46 - Let's add that activator to create the cells and lacing
02:25 - Let's BLOW
03:40 - Let's spin
05:55 - Wet version look
06:50 - Dry version and close ups
Hair/Blow Dryer: I currently use the Remington D3010 and always use the cool setting unless I specify otherwise.
