Spinning Ballet Dancers Illusion in a Necker Cube (Optical Illusion)

Also known as the Silhouette Illusion, the image of the spinning ballet dancer was created in 2003 by Japanese web designer Nobuyuki Kayahara. Sometimes you see the dancer spinning clockwise and sometimes you see her spinning anticlockwise. You may be able to force yourself to see the dancer spin one way or the other if you concentrate. It can already be confusing, but I decided to make it more confusing by using 3 spinning dancers instead of 1 and placing them in a Necker Cube, which is another optical illusion where your perception can flip back and forth. Try moving your eyes around different parts of the image.

I made this version of the illusion in PowerPoint by adapting an animation created by TillermanJimW, which is reproduced and adapted under the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 4.0 International license, and also a Necker Cube Illusion image by BenFrantzDale, reproduced and adapted under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported license.
