Spiny Shell or Bob-omb, which is worse? (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, Gamecube)
0Mario Kart Double Dash on the Gamecube is back again, and this time, I'm doing a half-half playthrough on 150cc using the two explosive items I believe frustrate players the most besides the Lightning, the Spiny Shell and the Bob-omb. As we all know, the Spiny Shell (fans love calling it "Blue Shell"), goes after the winning racer to knock them out into the sky with a blast. However, the blue-colored explosion itself is exactly like the Bob-omb, so, why not have that item join it for comparison? Under normal circumstances, the Spiny Shell rarely appears and the Bob-omb is the Special item made for Wario/Waluigi. For this video to be possible, as the game is played in real hardware, an Action Replay is required. Contrary to belief, I was actually laughing during most of the recording, especially at the Blue Shell part, because when you cheat in Double Dash, it becomes hilarious. And, personally, out of every Mario Kart game, the two powerful items in particular hit the hardest.
I know most of you would immediately say the Spiny Shell is worse solely because it targets whoever is in first place. It is at least in terms of 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘺 and is infamous to fans, but the Bob-omb can be just as bad if done right, as it is as strong at hitting opponents. At times, the items attack at random times, because the former can only appear once at a time, and no more than probably three Bob-ombs can be on the course.
