Spiral Knights is a mixture of Alien Swarm and Torchlight. At least, that's what I hear, because I've never played Torchlight.

It's a fun game; the way the company makes their money is through an energy system; it takes 10 energy to go down into the next dungeon, and you get 100 energy every 22 hours (so said the wiki page on SK). At the current moment, you can also trade roughly 5000 crowns (ingame currency) for 100 energy, so you'll make a slight profit on most Tier 2 or above runs, if you don't revive yourself ever.

Spiral Knights is a F2P game; you can play it for free (assuming you're economy savvy). I have played it for over 125 hours, and I haven't had to pay a penny (got a couple lucky crafts that I sold for a fair bit that really helped).
