Splatoon 3: Doing best with a Roller in Salmon Run [33-40-28-xf, 27/916]
Forget the walls! It's low tide. Two of us try to lure the early bosses, which is something, and we gang together to get through to the Stinger. Everything's going smoothly, until I get pulled between a Steelhead and Flyfish, and my Splattershot Nova not being accurate enough to splat the Steelhead efficiently. I leave them to it and head back, but another Flyfish is in one direction, a Stinger in another, and my Nova still can't hit well at a distance, leaving a Drizzler to rain on us. Not even a Lid will lift me above that. At least we survive the wave and move on.
Still low tide, and now even less range. At least the Carbon Roller will be accurate at that range. I sit back and wait for the action to come to me, which is eventually does, and I focus on the more powerful flick rather than rolling, which only really splats Smallfry without problems. At least it's quick, and rolling is good for inking turf. I pretty much skirmish around, splatting the little fellows, and keeping the eggs flowing. It works for me, and we get through to the third wave.
The tide comes in a little, which isn't great for my E-litre 4K. I have a perch, though, so I just have to wait for targets. And targets I can hit too. A Flipper takes too charged shots, which isn't too bad, and a Maws just a Splat Bomb, which is easier. A Lid is simple too, particularly when brought to turf, and I have a couple of Killer Wails for bosses like Flyfish. I am careful about getting out of the way of a Flipper, although maybe helping the Carbon Roller would have been better. Or it would have splatted us both. I revive them, though. Things are getting messy around the basket, and I run away, but that just drags the mess with me. I end up running away from everything, and still get splatted, but we've met quota, and get through to the end of the—
An emergency! Inkoming Horrorboros! I have the Squeezer, and we have a Flyfish. Two Flyfish! I splat one, and waste the eggs at a too-distant Horrorboros, so switch tack and head down for the other Flyfish, and a new Big Shot. I can throw the eggs back to a more central position with the cannon, which should help, although I manage to do that with one I intended to aim at the Horrorboros itself. Never mind, I go looking for more eggs, and find them, getting a good hit on the bomb. Chum get in the way of another throw, but I get two more hits in as I find squidmates to revive. We're running out of time, though, and getting stuck in ink trying to hit a Steelhead whilst being targeted by a Stinger doesn't help. At least we got close!
