Splatoon 3: Weird-mode Tower Control [18(5)-4, Range Blaster]
Oh, hello E-litre 4K Scope. I think that's an inkling I need to keep under control. I have to get close first, of course, and they are doing a good job of not letting anyone do that. But a bit of patience, a bit of testing the waters, and I get a good shot on them. Hopefully that will have them watching their back a little. With the E-litre 4K out of the way, and my squidmates getting more splats, it's time to ride the Tower. A squidmate joins me, so I can hop off and probe ahead. I see the E-litre 4K again, but my first blast only glances them, and I stay for the super-jumper. Still, I need to retreat, as I've attracted attention. Not that I get far.
My squidmates do an excellent job of keeping the Tower moving, despite little apparent presence. I go back the slow-ish route, which works for me, as I find the E-litre 4K again, and hit them this time. I then catch up with the Tower, but at the wrong time, as the teal team are getting splats, and I'm caught up in it. I return to see a squidmate in peril. I'd like to help them out, but can only avenge them. And get splatted in the process. No bother, back I go once more, where we seem to be moving backwards a little. I take my time, find a nice place to wait, and pop out to get a nice clutch of splats.
It's safe to ride the Tower a little more. Or it nearly is. The E-litre 4K's laser sweeps over me, but I'm just at the limit of their range. I hop off, squid forwards, and splat them. Then it's back on the Tower. I hop off to catch the .52 Gal coming my way, but fluff the ambush and have to squid back up the ramp. When I do, the E-litre 4K is back. I get a glancing blow, wait for them to come out, then try to flush them out, but no dice. And the Tower is getting away. I give chase, only to be surrounded, or what feels like it, and not know which direction to turn. It's no surprise I'm splatted.
The teal team have taken the Tower and have managed to put a score up. A bit of defence stirs things up a bit, and we soon have the Tower going forwards again, and the teal team beating a retreat. I push rather aggressively forwards. One inkling squids past me, jumping off the ledge to intercept the Tower. I don't think they make it. I hold my position, and blast the E-litre 4K quite efficiently, which I'm almost sorry for. Splatting the Splat Dualies after is just a lucky shot. How I'm not then caught by the Dualie Squelchers is a mystery, and that I splat them instead is just peculiar. But never mind, we're crawling closer to the goal.
I spot another opportunity to splat the E-litre 4K and take it, as my squidmates get more splats to complete a Wipeout. Maybe we can trundle on to the goal. I take that inkling and maybe get a bit too confident with it, as I stand without shooting, with ink flying in, as I do indeed hit the goal for the team. Woomy!
