About a year ago, the Tower Control mode became available in Splatoon. As time went on, it became my favorite Ranked Battle mode. Every now and again, whenever it was in rotation, I would play the mode whenever I needed to pass the time. I played the mode so often and won enough to here I became close to the highest rank in the game: the S Rank.
So, as I approached the S Rank, I decided to wait until Tower Control re-appeared in the Ranked Battle mode rotation, and I decided to record the session so that I may document the moment in which I finally earned the highest rank. The recorded session took over 2 hours, but for the sake of this video, I decided to pick out the matches that would be the most entertaining and/or showcase the true intensity of Tower Control battles. The result is what you see here.
I guess that, in the grand scheme of things, this is another generic session in which I went solo and just randomly played in the Ranked Battle mode. Even in this case, I think that it's nice to have solo sessions every now and again, and since I don't normally record Ranked Battle sessions by myself, I figured that this would be a nice change of pace for the series. Furthermore, earning an S rank in this game is often seen as a great achievement and/or proof that someone is, at the very least, a decent player.
I'm normally not concerned about my skill level in a game, but I figured that becoming an S Rank player in this game was particularly noteworthy as I've been playing the game even before it was released to the public. And I earned the rank using my primary weapon: the Splat Roller. So, regardless of what others think of my basic weapon combination, I've stuck with it for over a year now, and it paid off. While I'm sure that there are plenty of weapons and combinations that are objectively better, never let it be said that you HAVE to use such combinations in order to achieve greatness. I may never be the best player in the world, but at least I achieved SOMETHING just by using what I liked. I guess the point of all of this is: use weapons that you enjoy: you never know what will come of it!
Thank you, and enjoy! ;)
