Splitgate 2 Announces Layoffs After Bending Knee to Journo Mafia
In this video, I cover the implosion of Splitgate 2 and how 1047 Games co-founder Ian Proulx completely bent the knee to the journo mob after daring to wear a “Make FPS Great Again” hat on stage. Instead of standing firm, he quickly backpedaled and apologized, even as the game launched with a laughable $145 microtransaction bundle and flopped hard on Steam. Now the studio’s laying people off while the co-founders virtue signal by refusing their own salaries. This is what happens when developers try to appease everyone instead of making a solid game.
