Splitgate 2 Early Preview - The Sequel We Never Expected is Already Addicting
2The arena-based portal shooter Splitgate had its hooks in us in 2021, and we've actually hopped in with buddies as recently as a few weeks ago. And wouldn't you know it, we got the chance to join an exclusive first look at @Splitgate 2, the sequel we never expected but definitely needed.
Its recent cinematic trailer created some skeptics, and even we had some questions and reservations — so what is it really like playing Splitgate 2? Introducing three factions, more strategic team play, and refined portal and movement mechanics, it's handling beautifully and refreshing what was already one of the more original and exciting FPS concepts out there.
Check out our gameplay in the fast-paced Hotzone and tactical Team Deathmatch modes across three unique maps, highlighting how the game handles and what’s new.
It's not releasing until 2025 (date TBA), but you can get your hands on it as soon as possible by signing up for the playtest taking place August 21-25, 2024, by requesting access on the Splitgate 2 Steam page.
