Spyro 2: Ripto's Rage!: Part 3: Completing Colossus
I would love to show off the rest of Summer Forest, but I would need to pay Moneybags 500 Gems to teach Spyro how to swim underwater (among other things), and I don't have that much. I would need to go into a different level to get more.
I didn't mention this before, but if you hold L1, L2, R1, & R2 together, Sparx will point to the nearest Gem if there are still any left in any level. REMEMBER THIS!
I decided to start with Colossus, as it is the only level right now that doesn't require me to use a taught skill to get 100% in it.
--------------
Almost every level in Spyro 2 has two cutscenes: An intro cutscene explaining the level's problem, and an outro cutscene showing what happens after Spyro goes through it. In Colossus' intro, its residential monks are trying to appease an angry Yeti that's in one of their temples. Two of the monks try to feed a goat to it, but after a moment... the goat comes back. Where's the other monk?!
Uh oh...
--------------
The main objective of Colossus is for Spyro to reach this Yeti and "kill" him. Not "torch", "KILL". Several monks will help you by chanting "why-yiii-yiii-yo" to make different structures move for you to use.
Your enemies are those same goats as well as giant, ball-shaped yaks that will try to roll you over. Kill enough of them to activate the Spring Jump powerup to create shortcuts.
Once you actually reach the Yeti, he gets angrier and stomps, but it causes a statue above him to fall on him with enough force to shatter all of the windows in the temple.
So you end up not fighting the Yeti at all, but the Monks will thank you for your help anyway by giving you their Talisman: The Golden Statue.
--------------
Don't forget about the Orbs, too. There are 3, here. Here's how you get them all.
1). The Professor is here, and he's under attack by an evil spirit. Once you scare him away, the Professor wants you to flame all of the 10 bigger statues scattered all over the level, as the spirit has possessed them and turned them from yellow to scary green statues. Get them all and he will give you an Orb.
2). Beyond the temple where the Yeti was killed, there's ice that Spyro can skate on. Talk to a monk that around he to start a game of Hockey against the Goalie. Get 5 points, and the monk will give you an Orb.
3. After the 2nd task, the monk will challenge you to a real game of Hockey again an opposing Hockey player. If you get 5 points again, you'll win another Orb, but if the opponent wins, you'll have to try again.
If you manage to get 5 points without letting the Hockey player get any, you'll get a Skill Point for scoring a Perfect. Sadly, I don't do that, here, but I'll plan on that later.
--------------
For Colossus' Outro, one monk stands on a statue in the temple the Professor was in. He chants to make it float, while another tries to do the same. At first he fails, then he overdoes it, gets his friend squashed against the ceiling, then runs off like nothing happened.
I thought monks were non-violent people...
