Final fantasy 7 Remake is going to change wether we like it or not. This is the final nail in the coffin of the Tifas breast debacle. As well I want to talk about other changes that we will see in Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 1.

Tetsuya Nomura, director on the remake, says that “it was necessary to restrict her chest,” as the developers wanted her to have more of an athletic feel. She’s a fighter, after all, and that likely means she has abs and is generally very fit.
It was also stated this was discussed with the ethics department.
Wait, an Ethics department?
“In the Square Enix Japan studios, the Ethics Department is actually a group within the company that evaluates game content to make sure it is aligned with the anticipated age ratings standards across the globe (CERO, ESRB, PEGI, etc),”
the representative said.
“In this case, we want a new generation of gamers to experience Final Fantasy VII Remake and are working very closely with the company’s internal experts to make sure all of the game’s content is appropriate.”
This article has me believing that SquareEnix is truly aiming for a T rating. Especially since we know they are tweaking things so a broader audience is able to experience this game.
If it wasn’t already obvious Tifas breasts were reduced in size for 2 reasons. 1 for not to look unnatural in the game. And 2 due to a potential change in rating. So all doubts about this not being the case have gone out the window. Tifas breasts were censored.
Now do you remember that bathtub scene that took place at the honey bee inn? SquareEnix has confirmed they will be toning this down as well.
Do you notice a pattern here?
FF7 Remake will not be the game we remember. It will be different and it will adhere to todays societal standards.
Am I saying this is a horrible thing and we should all be mad? No.
But, I think its important to acknowledge that these changes are happening.
In my opinion these are not changes that will ruin the game or make me dislike the entire project. However, they are things that will take away from the charm the original FF7 had.
With that said, I think Final Fantasy 7 is more than just Tifas huge breasts and cloud bathing with a bunch of buff men. We may be losing those 2 things. But, what we are gaining is worth a lot more.
We are getting a deeper story. One that elaborates on each characters personalities and backgrounds far more than the original ever did. To know this all we have to look at is the fact there is a 2 bluray disc game covering the midgar segment of the game.
Although we are losing some of FF7 charm I am still excited for this game and can’t wait to see more of what it has to offer.
