Kotaku Writer Confirms Final Fantasy 7 Remake Release Date

After the last batch of Rumors and alleged leaks coming out to be completely fake. it makes me hesitant to even bother with a video discussing new ones. However, this alleged claim comes from someone who is well known in the games industry. Jason Schreier.
If you don’t know who he is he writes for Kotaku and on twitter a fan of his said
“So we could possibly be getting(atleast) Cyberpunk, TLOU2, Ghost of Tsushima, GRR Martin Fromsoft game, 1-2 Ubisoft AAA games and FF7 Remake part 1 in 1st half of next year? Hmm…”
Which Jason responded with “Based on what I've heard, yes to all of those. 2020 gonna be wild”
Jason is effectively claiming that FF7 Remake will be coming first half of 2020. Now before we all even begin to believe this claim lets delve into the possibilities of this being true.
Jason would have sources in the games industry especially being that he has been working in games for years. He is well known by anyone who is into games journalism.
Out of all the claims on the internet not from an official source. Jason is probably thus far the most reliable.
Jason is likely to have sources in the industry that have fed him this information. Now i know, “BUT NIXNE HE WOULD BE BREAKING AN NDA”. The issue with this statement is that if someone else is telling him this he may not be under an NDA. If hes not divulging the peoples names either he will still have the source as well.
It should also go without saying that if he was under an NDA he would not even make a peep about any of these major games listed above.
To get to the point do I believe what hes saying could be true?
Yes, now hear me out. As we know already that this game is likely close… very close to getting in our hands. First half of 2020 makes sense when we think logically about the statements Nomura has made such as “the game is closer than we think”
If it is First half of 2020 this makes me believe that E3 we should likely get a release date.
Now with that said as with all things not coming from SquareEnix mouth. Take it with some salt. I think it is possible. But, didn’t we already expect a release date within that time frame?
