There were a lot of really great emotional focal points at Evo 2013. On day one, the greatest echo was heard from Evil Geniuses' PR Balrog as he dropped Fei Long and went with his namesake to fight the reigning champion Infiltration one-on-one in the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition ver. 2012 semifinals.

At this point, everybody was still looking to snipe Infiltration, but the odds became increasingly harder major after major. But PR Balrog going with his gut allowed him to make the impossible happen. There was elation and a lot of USA chanting, but what really made it incredible was that it meant progress. PR Balrog had been in that situation years before and now he'd reversed it.

Yes, there was a runback in top eight. Yes, Infiltration having another shot was hype. But the moment where PR Balrog showed that the Korean powerhouse was mortal on stage by switching to a character, not for positioning but for his own passion and the love of the crowd, was powerful.
