Fanatec has been named as a title sponsor of the GT World Challenge and the new GT2 European Series in coming seasons. And this is much more a partnership than sponsorship.

Beginning at Monza in a few months, a booth will be set up at SRO race events where the real world teams will nominate a driver to drive in Assetto Corsa Competizione and potentially earn real championship points for placing well.

This news has been controversial in the sim world, with many people feeling like real racing and sim racing should be entirely separate things. In this video I'm going to share my thoughts on the topic, and I invite you to share your own thoughts in the comments.
