SSBM - Event 1: Trouble King in 7.23 [NTSC 1.02 Former World Record]
33After spending some time with savestates on emulator I started to figure out how to get the fast 1st kill (which isn't actually that difficult). After trial and error I came up with the fastest time I could do of 7.23. So seeing the possibility of beating the previous records and the TAS, I hopped onto my console and started doing some attempts. I first tried with PAL but it just seems impossible to do, so I quickly switched to NTSC 1.02 instead, where there's a more lenient window to get the kill.
My first improvement was a 7.30, but being so close to beating the TAS (7.26) I kept going. And not long after I eventually got this run! I must say it's actually not that difficult, quite chill even! I wasn't expecting to beat the TAS, but that's how it goes when you figured out new strats after many years.
I'll do 1.00 attempts next, just to see if I can get it lower, or learn the normal world record strat. I doubt I'll get the record any time soon, but we'll see how it goes!
