Welcome to my playthrough of SSRM2024 Kaizo Tourney, an Extreme/Kaizo Super Mario 64 Romhack made for the Kaizo Tournament of the Summer SM64 Romhacks Marathon 2024! In this video, I beat the Round 1 (Round of 16) stages without the use of savestates. Enjoy!

0:23 Aglab2: Kedama's Really Took Over - You Know How It Is
I liked the focus on HP, I did find a way to skip the last lavabounce which made the star a little more forgiving. Overall a fun challenge!

3:43 Cryogeon: Sentient Sands - Where the Desert Shines Bright
Fun star with creative jumps, I'm not a big fan of the lava tunnel at the very end though. I managed to find a cheese for a really hard wallkick section which was nice and it ended up making the star a whole lot nicer to play than it otherwise would have been.

7:13 Dolphino: Virusvine Vineyard - Grapes of Wrath
A short and sweet level primarily using wallkick sections ceilings to "disable" false ledgegrabs! I really liked the mechanic, and though it ended up being a little janky in practice, it was really fun nonetheless!

8:59 Iwer Sonsch: Rundown Industrial Corridor - 8 Last Embers on the Cooled-Off Machinery
Another great stage! I don't think the toxic gas really impacts the way you play the level in a significant way, but the gameplay was fun, especially the slope segment.

11:22 Redmat: Cryptic Cargo Chamber - Illusionary Ascension
I didn't expect to ever see a screenwrap level in SM64, but here we are! This level executes the gimmick really well, and I loved playing it. Some of the jumps were really scary though!

14:00 Serium: Wastelands Revival - The Start of the War
A really cool reimagination of SNR C15 making use of redmat walls. The flow of the level was great and I had an amazing time playing it!

16:57 SM64Pie: Sandy Sky Sanctuary - Trial by Fire and Water?
This is the easiest level of round 1 by far and I actually got it in 5 minutes of practice and attempts, so I don't really have much to say about this one. It was pretty fun though!

18: 43 Viper: Unstable Base Attack - Under Attack!
This level was kind of messy, both in terms of the collision and the visuals. I did enjoy the dive wallkicks and I liked the death star grab ending as well, but I unfortunately got tilted after forgetting to record my first completion of the star which lead me to pause buffering the wallkick sections at the end.

This hack has been one of the best experiences I've had in SM64 so far, the sheer creativity and flow of these levels are incredible and I'm incredibly excited to continue this hack soon!
