So, this is a bit of a random song to make a cover of, but this is more or less the result of a crackpot theory I have about the music of this game. Keep reading if you wanna hear it.
So for starters, some of Wolf Team's games for the Genesis/Mega Drive were ported from games they originally developed for the Sharp X68000. (FZ Senki Axis, Sol-Feace, and Arcus Odyssey) However, for all of these games, their respective Genesis soundtracks are a semitone lower than their respective X68000 versions. (Granada is an exception, but that one had a different sound driver than Wolf Team's other Genesis ports) So, this led me to believe that their Genesis sound driver was simply tuned much lower than normal for some reason, thus causing all the music to sound a semitone flat.
However, Wolf Team also had a couple of original Genesis games: El Viento and Earnest Evans, which were never on the Sharp X68000. So, I thought to myself "What if they were?" So, for this cover, I used Wolf Team's X68000 instrument and drum set, and corrected the key back to how Sakuraba probably envisioned while writing it.
Also, strangely, when listening to this song in-game, you'll notice it lacks a bassline. I hear that the sound driver was actually really glitchy, causing some channels to be cut out for some tracks. Considering the slipshod state the whole game appears to be in, that wouldn't surprise me. Thankfully, VGM rips of this soundtrack fix that and restore the missing bassline.
Anyways, ramble over now. Sorry I've been away a couple months. I have been working on some pretty cool stuff that you should get to hear for yourself later this month on someone else's channel. I'll keep y'all posted ;)
