S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 - Heart of Chornobyl #563: The Trouble With The Debtors
The Emission and night passed. With the morning, I returned to the location of the Debtors, but they were nowhere to be found. I felt I had no choice, but to go back to a manual save when I first arrived at the scene. It took me a few tries to find the right time and place.
I was with the Debtors when I first arrived and was searching inside the building. This time I went to each of them to see if there was any conversation, that triggered hostility or options for their problem with Barkeep. There was none other than the usual banter. I was looking around, trying to figure out what to do next. Then I noticed some movement to the east, on the hill back towards Rostok.
The slow movements made me realized it was zombified Stalkers. I went out to engage them, killing them all and trying to find all the bodies and weapons. Then I heard gunfire behind me, back at the Debtor's camp. I ran back towards it, just intime to see the last Loner fall to a Bloodsucker attack. I barely had time to raise my weapon, when the first Bloodsucker hit me. No sooner did I kill it, when the second one attacked me. Luckily both had been wounded and were easy to kill.
When I went to loot the Debtors, I actually found one still alive and wounded, laying on the ground. I gave him a medkit and he survived. If I had not come to the scene, the Bloodsuckers would have finished him off. I went among the Loners, getting their supplies and weapons. As I headed back towards Rostok, I had one more challenge. Bandits were coming towards me, where I had shot the zombies. I knocked out the Bandits quickly and went to grab even more loot.
I started looting the Bandits and getting dropped weapons and I was getting dangerously overloaded and then reached my limit. I had to use some Hercules to keep moving and as I got over the hill, I saw some Loners moving around the western edge of Rostok. With the safety of their numbers, I decided to return the way I had come and stay on the outside walls of Rostok, going all the way back to the Freedom base. After repairing and selling the weapons to Eugene, I returned to the 100 Rads Bar and went to Barkeep and did the only thing I knew I could. I told Barkeep I didn't want the job anymore and got it removed from my PDA.
Game Note: Not sure if the Debtors mission was bugged but I didn't expect to have to kill Loners, something I didn't want to do, especially if they never went hostile to me. I considered going farther back before I arrived on the scene, one I realized they had no dialogue about being Debtors, but once I got the Zombified Stalker's loot, the Debtor's loot and then the Bandit's loot, I knew I didn't want to give up all that loot and coupons they would bring. The only solution for now, was to decline the side-mission and try it again later, to determine if it was bugged or could be done differently.
