Star Traders 4X Empires Tutorialish - Your First Hour
10In this video I sorta show you how to start off. You kind of want to go for aggressive scouting and get your colonies up as soon as you can while building your Primes. In the beginning, your Primes will support your colonies. Later on, your colonies should start supporting your Primes.
You want to research both trees in Military and Colony, and treat them as different branches of the same tree while in the game. Your economy is defended by your military and your military is kept afloat by your economy. Neither should be immensely stronger than the other. Don't rush to produce a ton of ships or you'll find yourself bankrupt, but don't have too much funding saved up because you need the money to strengthen your colonies, which in turn strengthens your military.
Always try to build ships in a way that they can either support each other in a fleet or lone wolf it and drop several ships in succession. Try to make sure you equally divide exp among your ships instead of letting one alone get all the kills. This one ship may not be there when you need it.
