The Path to 2409 Achievement Trophy Guide

You get one random historical datachip every 20 hours from the missions "History 101: ..." (Commander Viala, Starfleet Academy) or "The Lore of the Empire" (Loresinger Ch'toh, Klingon Academy). You then use (or consume, essentially) the datachip to register that part of the 2409 lore. When used, a datachip grants an accolade, completing a volume gives an extra accolade.
Using all 5 character slots once a day, it will take 30 days to get 150 random ones. You need 166 total. The historical datachips are tradable, and you will probably NEED to complete your collection by trading or buying off the Exchange.
The questgiver also has a short daily mission to answer a random history question at a nearby computer station, which uses the info from the datachips. This quiz is NOT required to receive a datachip, but if you get the question right then you get dilithium and expertise for your character. The question you answer is NOT related to the one you receive from the terminal. Get the question wrong and you just miss out on the rewards. Considering how many datachips you need to collect, you might want to answer the questions for the characters that you plan on using to do quests – it’s a nice boost for them. Plenty of places will give you the answers, so look them up.

My recommendation for Path to 2409:
1. All characters on an account can receive a historical datachip once per day. You get 5 to start with, so after 30 days you should have around 150 total.
2. You MUST consume the datachips with the same character. An accolade is given and linked to the character that eats it – they are not shared across all on the same account. Use the Mail and place datachips in the inventory slots and send the mail to your main character and have them consume them.
3. Play all 3 Federation characters to level 5 and leave them at Starfleet Academy for datachips.
4. Play Klingon until you get to level 10 (or so) and then leave them at Klingon Academy. (You can start doing the daily at 10, maybe 7)
5. Play Romulan until you get to level 10 and pick your Allegiance (Starfleet or Klingon). Then you can leave them at either Starfleet or Klingon Academy, and get the datachips.

Note: You MIGHT not need to have a Klingon and Romulan gathering datachips for just this achievement, the one you get appears to be random regardless of faction, but you need those other two factions to get all the story arc related achievements/trophies anyway. Some say you NEED one character in each faction, so just do it this way for now.

It's possible to check the ones you have consumed by selecting Missions - Mission Journal – Accolades, and then scroll down to Lore Accolades. You can make a checklist, or find someone else online that has already made one.

If you're already consumed one, the “Use” option becomes disabled. You cant accidentally eat multiples of the same one. Save them for a friend or sell them on the exchange (try to keep the prices reasonable for others:).

The datachips are listed on the Exchange under Personal Equipment - Personal Devices, among all the food items.
