VERY impressive port of the arcade sequel to Defender. This is very faithful, with improved graphics and sound effects over its port of Defender. The action is the same, in which you try to prevent Landers from stealing the humanoids from your planet and turning them into evil, crazed mutants. Here you have a titular Stargate that warps you to the closest humanoid being abducted, but also allows you to warp 4 waves if you carry at least 4 dropped humanoids (that you caught from shot Landers stealing them), and you're able to hold several at once. If you manage to bring at least 10 you'll get extra lives! Interesting addition to the game play of the original, in addition to new special waves which feature almost exclusively new alien menaces. The only thing that sucks about this game is the fact you must use 2 joysticks-- understandable, though, as you need controls for smartbombs, hyperspace (though it should never be used IMHO), and the "Inviso" temporary cloaking shield. Nevertheless, this is an excellent port and is well worth checking out! Created by Bill Aspromonte.
