Starting out with Flashback on CD-i!
23We're off to the future in Flashback: The Quest for Identity and we'll be playing through the CD-i version. A big thank you to @GameplayandTalk for suggesting this game!
This used to be one of my favourte games on the system (didn't have any other version of it), but I haven't played it in ages. I did manage to beat it once (probably on easy), but mostly played the first few levels, as those are the most fun I think. The objective for today is to at least play through the first 2 levels, but if things go really well, perhaps we'll manage to get to Earth even. Depends a bit how quickly I get get the hang of things again, as the game is no walk in the park and the CD-i version, whilst a pretty solid port in its own right, does run a bit slow, as you might expect.
Anyway, let's dig in and enjoy the ride, as the game sets up a fairly interesting narrative. If you're a sci-fi fan, you'll find plenty of common themes in this game which borrows from a lot of old classics for inspiration.
