I've made a tutorial on how to fix it.

1. Boot into desktop mode.
2. Use an external mouse or I believe the face buttons or bumpers or something might also serve as left click.
3. Open Steam.
4. Go to Settings - Controllers - Desktop Configuration or you can do this in Big Picture Mode under Settings - Controller - Base Configurations.
5 .Click on the two squares floating above the Steam Deck.
6. Change the Type of Input and the Action dropdowns to whatever you had them on before.
7. Go back to the main config screen with the image of the Steam Deck and press Done.
8. Qapla.
