Btw, Steam Deck is a PC™

From time to time a question pops up -
"How to create a SteamOS recovery image I dont have a PC only a Steam Deck???"

Thats why i decided to create this quick video.

Its about a 4minute video but this is the summary -

- Boot to desktop mode

- Open Firefox browser to download the 2.5Gb recovery image from Steam website

- Once download is complete, plugin the usb drive you want to use for recovery

- open konsole terminal and type the 2 commands -

cd Downloads

bzcat steamdeck-recovery-4.img.bz2 | sudo dd if=/dev/stdin of=/dev/mmcblk0 oflag=sync status=progress bs=128M

(i used /dev/mmcblk0 as im putting the recovery image to an sdcard. if using a usb drive then use the parameter /dev/sda)

- this will take several minutes to complete

- once done, power off the Steam Deck

- VOLDOWN+POWER then select your USB drive to boot

- SteamOS recovery image is booted up!
