With the final tick of the teaser site countdown, Valve announced their new SteamOS. They aren't kidding around and they want a slice of the living room pie. This linux operating system is designed to be used on the big screen with a controller much like a console. Only time will tell if this will become widely adopted by major computer manufacturers, but certainly a push from a big player like Valve might do the trick.
