The demo came out yesterday. I tried to livestream it but guess what, the stream crashed. Four times. All that did pissed me off. So I decided to say, screw it. Screw the streams, even though I thank everyone for watching it. I figure that I would do this because if I don't, I'll regret it. I welcome you to my Demo Playthrough of Stellar Blade.
I've been keeping track of this game, mostly because I want this to succeed. In a world where stuff like live service, microtransactions, always online only games and companies that wish to change up characters for the sake of ESG profits, this is a breath of fresh air. This is something I want in gaming and on a Sony console of all things. Sony haven't been doing well as of late. I hated how they went after Japanese companies and forcing them to censor their products. This caused some franchises to suffer as a result especially Senran Kagura. It has been five or so years since Sony left Japan for California. Since they focused heavily on triple-A games that feel like walking simulators than niche titles that offer variety. With Jim Ryan having left Sony, I only wish the company can right the course and restore it's trust with their consumers.
Not only that but I'm doing this because I despise gaming journalists. They are nothing but mouthpieces. They're scummy. They know nothing about games and they only write articles just to get clicks. Not only that but they hate us gamers. They don't like the games that they enjoy and would rant about it on articles for the sake of spreading hate. This game is no exception. Not only that but companies like Sweet Baby Inc are made for the sake of trying to water down games for the sake of diversity, exclusivity and inclusion. And those results aren't good. Tell it to Forspoken and how the game failing killed off a game studio. When you try to appeal to everyone, you end up appealing to no one.
Sorry for this long rant. I played this demo and I had a lot of fun with it. The game is Souls-like and the main protagonist is beautiful. She looks amazing. She feels like a beautiful lady and not like the ones we see in AAA titles like Spider-Man 2. She looks great. The game plays great and it offers a fair amount of challenge. I kid you not. I only hope that this will convince you enough to try the demo for yourself. I highly recommend it.
Also screw IGN. You can't spell ignorant without those three letters: IGN.
