3This is the C64 I originally bought for spare parts that I'm trying to resurrect. Made some progress but still not working. Last I left it I bodged pin 1 on U4 to U5, replaced and socketes the PLA. Also tried replacing what I thought was potentially bad RAM at U12. Went from Dead Test flashing to black screen.
Recently I took another stab at it. Turns out PLA pin 14 wasn't making good contact with ground so I fixed that. Dead Test works again, but just flashing white. Random intervals sometimes 8 in a row, sometimes 4, other times a solid white or black screen for a second or two. Replaced both 74LS257's, all RAM, removed all ROM's and CIA's. I'll keep trying.
