Storage Options for HX-WB Holden Models by Vision Trim Shop
26Welcome back everyone, its Dan here from Aussie Garage. The other day whilst we were Live Streaming on out channel, Bad Q Garage ask to see my design for the console that I designed for my WB Holden Panel Van that has a bench seat in it. This design will work for HX- WB Holden Sedans, Utes or Panel Van with a Bench Seat set up in it.
As you will see in the video, this console going on top of the tunnel and between the lower part of the dashboard. We have set a positive wire set up that is fused and goes back to the Fuse Box for the accessories on the console. Here is the Console that I designed for this series of Holden, simple because I want more storage for my Van. As you can see there are two hooks in the console that hook up under the dashboard, it has an interior light with a switch which is low voltage. Next time, I would put a brighter light in however, it works for now. Plus, it has a USB for charging your phone or other devices whilst travelling.
To install the console is simple, connect the positive wire set up in the back of the console and then slide underneath the dash area and lift it up, then forward until it hooks under the dash. It’s a bit floppy on the dash and putting a bit of pressure on the dash now, however, it’s a simple solution that no one will see. We get a couple pieces of foam, please bear in mind the foam will be the same colour as the design, however, this is just for demonstrating only. So, you push the foam underneath the console and between the carpet with a bit of pressure, then the console is secure with no movement.
Now you have plenty of room for your phone, garage opener, wallet and more, plus you have a USB to charge your phone and other devices that you may need. It has a nice suede material inside the console and vinyl can match your seats or your dashboard. I would personally do it matching the dash next time as it will blend in more, however, your choice.
I made this console design because the other design I made for the bench seat in the arm rest, however, it was going to be to commercial expense to sell to the public. However, if the public wants this design, then they must be aware of the cost associated with making it. But this second design is cost effective, simple to insult without a trimmer and has plenty of storage and functionality in it.
