Strange World | Ethan Clade and Splat Shot Progression | Zachary Rahman | 3D Animation Internships
35This was my first sequence I got to work on with Malerie Walters as my anim supe. I shot some reference to get a feel of Ethan's timing, then I pretty much ignored it later. This show was pretty tricky at first because I never thought about posing the face to camera in order to escape the mushy 3/4 view. In the blocking you can see the face looking a little unappealing but after getting some great draw overs from Malerie, we were able to get Ethan to actually look like Ethan. For Splat, I got to work with Louis Jones, the character lead for Splat and Legend on the show. I had a hard time wrapping my head around how to get him to peel off from the tree, but after receiving a few killer draw overs by Louie, I was able to sculpt what poses I wanted within the moving camera and it turned out pretty rad!
