First of all I just want to say this is not a FF game. Tbh I don't think it is meant to be. It carries the title and works well with the lore of FF 1 but that's about it. Once that misconception is out of the way and you let go of anticipating deep story telling and hours of open world exploration of dungeons and the sorts; it becomes a pretty great game.
The combat feels really nice fluid and diverse, allowing you to swap between two jobs mid combat to add an extra layer of tactical depth to it. The jobs on their own also are very interesting with skill trees that lead to unlocking new jobs like white mage, swordsman or knight and many many more, in-fact there are 28 jobs here.
It feels great to open up foes with a nice AOE earth quake to then switch and follow up by smashing the staggered creatures with a greatsword.
There's some blur going on in the cutscenes and such which could have been dialed down, but the animations and areas look pretty cool.
I just wish Jack had a bit more personality, more fleshed out instead of the over the top-ness which reminds me Of Devil May Cry like vibes but without Dante's charismatic and fun nature to balance the cheese.
It has Dark souls like mechanics, but with a difficulty setting to tune it all to a degree so it’s easy for casuals to pick this game up and have some fun.
So, all in all, a fun experience if you let go of FF expectations and exploration of a massive open world.

Thank you for watching guys please like share and subscribe stay safe I’ll see you on the next one peace ✌️
