REVIEW (in english): [Comparisons between Street Fighter 2' Turbo and Street Fighter 2' Special Champion Edition]. The first thing to note is the SEGA logo itself. On the beta version part of the "A" in SEGA is next to the TM. There's also no Capcom logo in the Beta version. The introduction sequence is quite different. The beta just shows the logo morphing in front of you, whilst in the final the actual arcade introduction is there and the morphing logo. There is also no licensing text at the logo in the beta but there is in the final. The main thing with the Beta logo is that it says "ST" Why not "SF" for Street Fighter? Don't press start at the title screen in either version and you get two very different things to happen. In the beta the game goes to the player select screen and the CPU chooses two characters, who then fight each other. In the final you get a brief look at a fighter's statistics and then a fight starts with the fighter you looked at fighting on their own stage against someone else. Different menus and text fonts. The beta only contains a version of Street Fighter 2' Turbo whilst the final has that AND Street Fighter 2' Champion Edition. The final also has the team battle mode in either vs. mode. Very different options screens. The beta has a separate menu for control options and doesn't have a full stop after "config" unlike the final. This option also looks different in the beta as well. The difficulty is called "computer level" in the beta and is also done by numbers, which was only ever used in the Super Nintendo version of Street Fighter 2. In the final it's done by a star rating. The time limit's options are either on or off, unlike the final versions yes or no. S.E. Test is called effect in the beta, and music test is called music. Different character select screens. The background is a much darker blue in the final, and the fighter's are in their hyper fighting colours. In the beta they are in their normal colours but the hyper fighting colours can be selected by pressing start over a fighter. Another difference is the character portraits. In each version, some are bigger than others and some are smaller. Again, there is a different font used. The map is also slightly differently laid out in the final. The game still plays how it should, with you picking a fighter and then taking on everyone else. The vs. screen isn't that much different apart from colours and fonts, plus the fighters are further away from each other in the beta. One feature that was removed from the final version was the P and K icon. If you look to the right of Ryu's health bar (left to the timer) you can see a P icon. This told you which you were on, punch or kick, if you had a three button pad plugged in. However in the final it's just not there. The beta version is actually 6 button pad compatible as well so the P or K icon isn't there then. Also, the victory symbols (the little hands showing peace) are different in each version. The stages in the final have ALL been redrawn and most had more animation in. Like the other screenshots the colours and fonts were a lot different in each version. In the top left hand corner, it says "1P" in the Beta whilst it says "1UP" in the final. This also happens when a second player is fighting. At the victory speech screen the fighters are slightly further apart from each other. The fonts are also different in each version, and the final has bigger fonts as well. Notice that in the beta the words "press" and "start" are completely in white instead of white and red. Also, in the beta each fighter just has one victory quote, whilst in the final everyone has at least two different ones. Ryu also says "You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance." in the beta but in the final he says "You must defeat my dragon punch to stand a chance!" Finally, the pictures of the loser fighters are different in each version, but only slightly. Lose a fight in 1 player mode and you get this screen. The fighter's still animate in both versions, if slightly differently. The Beta countdown clock doesn't flash or blank out when the numbers change, but in the final they do. In the Beta it also has a question mark after continue in the top left hand corner, which isn't there in the final. When it gets to 0 and ends, the screen will flash red in the beta, this was removed from the final. However in the final your fighter's knock out cry will be heard after the words "Game Over" show up, which doesn't happen in the Beta version. You don't get to see the high score screen after this in the beta.
