Street Fighter EX plus Alpha [PS1(ePSXe)]: Sakura Kasugano Arcade Playthrough (Hardest)
Note/Warning: Due to the emulation being pretty janky, there are momentary periods from time to time of the audio losing sync/growing statically throughout the playthrough as well as mild graphical glitches. I tried to do what I could but the problems just kept persisting, so please keep your volume to a mild setting while watching this video.
Game Settings
Continues: 18 (4 at Stage 6 [Cracker Jack], 1 at Stage 8 [Bloody Hokuto], 2 at Stage 9 [Cycloid beta], and 11 (criminy...!) at Stage 10 [M. Bison/Dictator]
Difficulty: 8 (hardest)
Damage: 1 (lightest [...which only really applies to Sakura after a while... You'll see what I mean as she progresses...])
Timer: 99 (slowest)
With Fighting EX Layer coming out in only 2 days, I decide to do a couple of videos in remembrance of ARIKA's original EX series. I've actually never covered the first PS1 game on this channel before so this is a first playing EX+@ here. Always nice to hear this game's soundtrack again and realize this game had quite a few things going for it back in 1997 that we would see again in later SF games of today.
It's been ages since I played this game and boy does it show, as it took me forever to get used to combo timings... which made playing on hardest difficulty way more of a pain than it should have been. It also really started becoming troublesome with the fact the AI eventually ignores the damage setting while Sakura's attack begin to do even LESS damage, nearly triple the amount by the time she reaches Bison. Instant reactions and blatant AI cheating throw in to the mix (forget charge characters doing charge moves while walking forward, at one point Bison uses Psycho Cannon WITHOUT METER), and you can tell the schoolgirl's journey will be a rough one.
As always though, I stuck with it until she cleared. Next, well be doing something with Nanase in EX2plus, in order to really get ready for Thursday.
