Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition - Ryu's Story
Let's get the poster boy over with....
So here's Ryu, the star of the show, for better or worse. Ryu is more of a fighting game main character template than he is his own character, really so uh....he's not my favorite. He IS a decent character to pick up to learn the fundamentals though. From his Hadoken projectile, his spinning Tatsumaki Senpuyaku kicks and his iconic Shoryuken uppercut, his moveset is great for dealing with almost any situation.
In this game, Ryu gains a parry for his V-skill, letting him nullify a single attack, letting players then prepare a counter attack faster than if they just blocked normally. His first V-Trigger gives his Hadokens an electrical effect and he can now charge them. It also seems to slightly change his super into the Denjin Hadoken. I have no idea what his second V-Trigger does, seeing as you can't even use it in the Story...
Said story is...Ryu having to suppress the Satsui no Hadou, basically the power of hate and killing intent. A guy like Akuma is bursting with the stuff, but Ryu resists. This storyline features in a LOT of games, even popping up in Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite...though the cinematic story in THIS game does allegedly see him finally work past it and gain inner peace, giving him the power of "nothingness." It's...more impressive than it sounds, really!
