Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition - Cammy's Story
EVERYTHING IS LIES!!
(Man, that old Street Fighter cartoon was hilarious, huh?)
Here's Cammy White, another staple of the series. Cammy has one of the more interesting character arcs across the series, introduced as one of Bison's "dolls," brainwashed soldiers that he intends to make into spare bodies. Cammy was fortunate enough to get out, and now feels deep regret for the actions she committed while under Bison's control, not to mention a desire to save her fellow dolls, which is what drives her overall prologue here.
Within SFV proper, Cammy tangles with Decapre, another doll who is essentially her clone. While having just as much reason to hate Bison as everyone else, Cammy prioritizes saving her "sisters," and by the story mode's end, she does just that, with Decapre even coming to her rescue. In many ways, Cammy's story feels like it's been wrapped up with SFV, so any future games will have to give her something to do!
Cammy fights primarily with kicks, but mixes in a lot of acrobatics, taking to the air for some moves or performing spinning kicks like her Spiral Arrow special move. She's pretty fun to use, really! Her V-Skill in this game is a move she's employed in the past, Quick Spin Knuckle, and it works the same way here. A combination of attack and evade, Cammy can dodge incoming attacks before landing an attack of her own, giving her a great counter to projectiles. Her V-Trigger I, Delta Drive, gives her a speed boost and changes up the properties of her special moves, usually adding more hits or knocking the foe into the air. Her V-Trigger II then, is Delta Advance, an attack with two different variants that can be used to pressure opponents or even cross them up.
Is it just me, or does Cammy have the coolest super in the game? Maximum Cammy!
So the blonds are out of the way...from this point on I try to do the pairs of story modes with a set "theme" so stay tuned for more next time!
