Here's the tale of Ken Masters, Ryu's best friend and eternal friendly rival. Ken studies under Gouken, just like Ryu, and the two of them share a deep bond. Ken is a bit more brash than Ryu, and as such over the years their movesets have diverged a bit, with Ken showing to have an affinity for fire, reflected in his various Shoryuken moves.
Seems Ken took Guile's advice and became a family man, as his wife Eliza gets some spotlight here. It's...kinda nice to see other family members of the playable characters here; you actually get the sense that Ken is his own person who isn't just a walking fighting machine.
That said, Ken's not really...all that important in the big picture of the SFV story, though he's a staple that I'm sure will always be there. Here's hoping the next game gives him a better look...that Playdough-esque banana hair isn't looking so good.
As for gameplay...yeah, he's very similar to Ryu. His V-Skill though, Quick Step, is him...walking forward quickly, so it's a nice gap closer. His first V-Trigger is Heat Rush, which adds fire to all of his special moves and increasing his damage overall, while his second one is his trademark Shinryuken, an extra-fancy flaming Shoryuken.
And...yeah, that's it! Ken's pretty much the most popular character online due to his simple, but effective moveset and people have seen him so much they tend to get sick of him quickly. I'm no veteran player, but I do have to say I'm very....underwhelmed by Ken in general, so I doubt I'll touch him much.
